About Us
What is Hong Kong BBQ?
Hong Kong BBQ — also called Cantonese BBQ — is the iconic style of slow-roasted, hand-cut meats hanging in the windows of Cantonese shops from Kowloon to Chinatown. It's defined by craft: whole proteins are marinated, hung, and roasted over fire or in vertical ovens, then chopped to order on a wooden block and served simply over rice or noodles. It's built for everyday eating — rice plates at lunch, family-style platters at dinner, midnight cravings on the way home. The cuisine rewards patience and technique: long marinades, careful hanging, hot fires, and sharp cleavers.
